Cassopolis is the county seat of Cass County, Michigan, a short drive north of the Indiana line and comfortably within the area we serve from Mishawaka.
Cass County is largely rural, and that shapes what an outage means. Utility crews restore the circuits serving the most customers first, so a country line with a handful of houses on it sits further down the list. Four hours in town can be two days out here.
Add a well pump to that and the arithmetic changes again: no power means no water at all, for drinking, washing or flushing.
Cass County's lake communities bring the same combination we see across the region - heavy tree cover close to the service lines, longer runs from the road, and houses that are sometimes empty for stretches. All three favor a system that starts by itself.
Kohler and Briggs & Stratton only. We are a Kohler Platinum Dealer with Kohler-authorized technicians. We do not service Generac equipment.
A free assessment at your property, about half an hour. We list your major appliances, inspect the panel, talk through placement against your gas or propane supply, then send a written quote and follow up the next day.
A home generator plus installation typically starts at around $8,000. Rural properties sometimes land higher purely because of the distance of the gas run or the placement, and we will tell you that at the assessment rather than later. Financing is available through EnergyPlus and the National Energy Improvement Fund.
Installations run six to twelve weeks out from signing. The job covers the pad, the fuel connection, the electrical work, the automatic transfer switch, and the permit and inspection.
A three-year service agreement at a discounted rate, or will-call at $100 more per visit. Out here the agreement is worth more than the discount, because a rural circuit is restored later than a town one and a well-maintained generator is the difference between an inconvenience and a week of hauling water.
Permitting and inspection work differently on this side of the line, and we handle it as part of the installation rather than handing it back. Cass County is a named part of our service area, so this is a route we run regularly rather than a special trip.
